>I didn’t expect this to happen tonight, but it did. And we feel good about it, as crazy as it may sound.
I’m not moving to Korea. As you all know, CS paperwork is not going through anytime soon, and things aren’t working out for him to get approved to live off-post. We went ahead and made the decision that he would come home for leave in the next few months, and then we’ll PCS (move) to our next duty station in June.
We feel this is the best decision for our sanity, and just in general. Our Lord is not a God of confusion or fear. II Timothy 1:7: “For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.”
We’ve been talking about, praying about and thinking about this decision for a few weeks now, and the fact that we’ve both been thinking it and that things aren’t working out for me to go over is confirmation.
I can’t stop thinking about ministry opportunities I’ll have. I can put my apartment back together. We can pay off more debt. We were discussing last night that we’d put every other of my checks into savings, and every other onto debt. In the next seven months, that will be roughly $3,500 more paid off. That will knock out one of my school loans!
Aaron will get mid-tour leave at some point, and he’ll have about three weeks saved up. He can come home, and I can take the time off of work (already asked about it) and we can have no obligations for that time. That’s been the greatest thing about spending time together when we can get it – we don’t have to live in the real world with jobs and everything, haha. Just time for us.
Here are some upcoming things I’m excited about:
-Hosting Thanksgiving dinner at my apartment for my immediate family
-Hosting a table at the FCC Christmas Tea
-Training and running the Illinois Marathon with Gabriela
-Being a part of the worship team at faith.. God is doing something amazing in our church and I can feel it!
I am so incredibly thankful for being placed here right now in the midst of my awesome families and friends. I am blessed to have great relationships with both my and Aaron’s families.. it’s not everyday one has good relations with the in-laws! I have seriously the best friends ever who lift me up and encourage me.
Thank you to everyone who has prayed for us, for our health, marriage, current situation, everything. The fact that we feel at peace about it is evidence that someone has been praying! If I could describe the peace I feel right now, I would. Paul was one step ahead of me I’m afraid…
