Day 8 | Faith

Prompt: Song, “Prayer of Thomas Merton”

This song’s lyrics call out some of the questions and uncertainties surrounding faith. It talks about how desiring to please God is in fact pleasing to Him. It also talks about how He won’t leave us alone while we go through perils.

The fact is, bad things happen. Inexplicable things happen. We can’t possibly have so much pride as humankind that we know the answers to why things happen. When bad things happen, we can still have faith. It may mean that we question things, or struggle in our hearts, but just because we doubt or question doesn’t mean we’ve lost our faith.
